JS Bach Mass in B Minor

with Cöthen Baroque, Conductor Christopher Dawe
soloists Elenor Bowers-Jolley, Victoria Simmonds, Tim Mead, Nathan Vale, Dan Jordan

Following ABC's triumphant (and sold out) debut at St John's Smith Square with Bach's Christmas Oratorio in 2007, we are following it up with another Bach major choral work, the Mass in B Minor on Saturday 28 February.

This should be just as exciting, if not more so, than our previous venture. Once again we will perform with the period instrument Cöthen Baroque, comprising some of London's rising stars on the early instrument scene. Our soloists are all young Bach specialists, including mezzo-soprano Victoria Simmonds, who is a major star at Opera North and ENO, and countertenor Tim Mead, who gave a stunning performance at ABC's B Minor Mass five years ago.

Many of you will know the B Minor from recordings or from singing it, but a really fine live performance is something else, particularly in such an ideal performance space for baroque music as St John's Smith Square. It should be a tremendous event, and you will also have the excellent restaurant and bar facilities before the performance, in the interval, and after the performance. And, based on the experience of December 2007, it will be advisable to book early!

Tickets are now on sale to the general public and are priced £22, £18 and £15 (£20, £16 and £13 for concessions).
